I am ready for South East Open Studios 2024, and really looking forward to extending a very warm welcome to you all. Come and view new work, work in progress and demonstrations, as well as a lovely chat over a cuppa and a slice of cake in the garden in the sunshine (hopefully). It is lovely to build relationships with you all during this event and to be able to show you the place where I get the inspiration for the work I create and the narratives I weave into the compositions. The garden is further on than most years due to all the rain, so my gorgeous Pattys Plum poppy is all but over already, but the lutea foxgloves are looking like they will be in their prime. From M20 and Ashford: Take Jct 9 exit and follow signs to A28 Tenterden. After you pass the Chilmington Lakes housing development (it’s huge you can’t miss it), turn left into Chilmington Green Road (signposted Shadoxhurst and Kingsnorth) passing the Clip Clop store on your Left. Follow this and take the second right onto Tally Ho Road (approx 1.5 miles from A28 signposted for Shadoxhurst and Woodchurch). Follow this road through Shadoxhurst Village and past the King’s Head Pub. Head out of the village through woods and surrounding fields, and after just over 0.5 miles, take the first right (there will be a South East Open Studios sign). The studio is the second semi-detached cottage on your right. There will be bunting and plenty of signs, and there should be space on the drive to park. From Tenterden: Head out of Tenterden on the A28 towards Ashford, and when you reach High Halden, just after the pelican crossing, turn right at the Village Green opposite The Chequers Pub onto Church Hill which turns into Plurenden Lane (signposted Woodchurch). Follow this lane for approximately 3 miles (passing Plurenden Dairy Farm), and keep going until you reach the crossroads. Give way at the crossroads before you continue straight ahead (there will be a South East Open Studios sign at the junction). The studio is approximately 1 mile on your left. There will be bunting and plenty of signs, and there should be space on the drive to park.
