Info
A day exploring different techniques for capturing impressions from nature itself. This is a very hands-on day where you will get a taster of a range of media that can be used to take or capture impressions of botanical specimens, both in the studio and in the garden (weather depending). The day will include casting clay impressions in plaster, botanical printmaking, using a gelli plate and a press to achieve different results, capturing the fleeting shapes with shadow drawings and paintings as well as experimental cyanotype prints on paper and fabric. This day will enable you to dip your toes into a number of different media and you will go home with a range of outcomes, that can be explored and developed further in your own time or by returning for a full day workshop in your favourite techniques. A fun and very productive workshop suitable for all abilities. - Clay impressions / Plaster casting small plaques - Cyanotypes on paper and fabric - Botanical monoprinting - Shadow Drawings / Paintings
